Insulin Pumps

An insulin pump is a small device that contains a cartridge and fast-acting insulin. As type 1 diabetics do NOT have ANY insulin in their pancreases, these are attached to the body through a catheter that provides the insulin that is needed to eat and live a regular life, (those with type 2 diabetes may also use these). This way, diabetics can forget about taking multiple needles a day, but instead, they change the catheter every 3 days! (One needle every three days)

Glucose Monitoring Systems

Diabetics should  CONSTANTLY keep track of their blood sugar levels. That being said, an average amount of checking would be before every meal throughout the day (even snacks), which equals to somewhere around 5-8 times a day. This is the reason why the glucose monitoring system was invented. It checks your blood sugar levels continuously - every 5 minutes. That way, diabetics can relax and live a stress-free life knowing their blood glucose levels  are being monitored and are under control!
